I talked to an adcom on campus and told him I want to major in "Biology & Society". He said that many applicants use that major because it just seems kind of general and they don't know what they want to do. He asked me what I thought it was about and what I want to pursue, so I summarized in a few sentences, and he said that that fit what Bio and Soc is perfectly.

I also love how the university is divided into schools/colleges. I like CALS especially.

Great selection of classes, beautiful scenery, strong in sciences, perfect distance from home, highly selective (yes I am a perfectionist) and decent food!

-great bio program

I understand how ILR can be thought of as Marxist, but being an ILRie, it is not true. While there are union, labor, and plight of the workers stuff, there is also a substantial population of ILRies that go into finance, business, and HR. So, ILR is definitely more multifaceted than labor. Just look at the profile of the graduating class and there is a great diversity of both labor and business.

^^If you want to earn some brownie points...I know the CALS transfer admissions counselor and CALS Ambassadors Transfer Liaison would love to hear your thoughts about Transfer Day :-)....if you're applying to CALS, that is!

I was the Transfer Liaison in 2007 and I had a lot of fun working with the CALS admissions office to plan the day :)
