I chose Fordham over NYU. Honestly, I do not have a laundry list of reasons. It’s hard to come up with one when my answer is simple: Fordham just felt like “that” place for me. It felt like the place where I could happily spend four years. NYU did not (for reasons I could tell you). I suggest you research and visit both schools as they differ a lot educationally.

Also, Fordham gave me a full tuition scholarship, and they are decent with Financial Aid from what I see here. NYU gave me nothing and they are so bad with aid that they needed a sticky on its forum page telling parents about it.

NYU has higher admission standards and is a much bigger school with thousands attending, but it has no true “College feel”. Fordham is smaller with a tight knitt community. While LC is a small campus in the heart of Manhattan, it is tied to the lovely and beucolic Fordham Rose Hill campus that feels/looks a bit like Oxford; NYU can’t offer that. Visit both and see which offers the best package. You will get a fine education at either school.

My S is a sophomore at LC and chose it over NYU. He preferred the Jesuit education and core curriculum as well as the sense of community at Fordham.

you should just feel which one is right for you. also look at the campuses. NYU is more spread out when it comes to classes while Fordham’s are somewhat more campus oriented. Also the vibe’s are completely different. For those reason’s , I did not even bother applying to NYU, despite their constant badgering :P
