why havent they recieved my..

hey.. im freeeaking out right now. i called purdue and they havent recieved all my reccomendation packet stuff ( my transcript was in it) my counsiler said she sent it out 2 fridays ago which means it prob went out on 10/16 around then and they havent recieved it yet.. what should i do b/c i know their admissions rolling..

It could have been misfiled. Ask Purdue to look again, perhaps using different forms or spellings of your name. Ask your GC to resend.

Good luck.

Hmmm...this seems like a long time. Maybe you should have them re-mail it. Check to make sure the address your guidance office is using is the right one:

Purdue University
Office of Admissions
Schleman Hall
475 Stadium Mall Drive
West Lafayette, IN 47907-2050

i know its weird but i called today and the lady told me to wait until friday and call back again because they have alot of people transcrripts they have been recieveing... ughh FRUSTRATIONNNN hahah well should i wait until friday the problem is if i ask my counsiler she has to resend the reccomendation letter and the application supplement..

Stressed,

Carnegie Mellon lost several components of my D's application last year.

Be polite but persistent.

Ask your GC to resend. It's better than to wait until Friday and find out that it is indeed lost.

ok im going to ask her to send all the stuff to purdue again.... but i'm going to have to on thurs b/c we dont have school tomarrow... i think i should be especially worried about purdue b/c it is rolling...

Relax. Unless you are going into one or two majors, such as aviation, Purdue has lots of space left. Do follow up, but don't freak out.

Two Fridays ago would be 10/20 which means it probably got to Purdue 11/25 at the earliest and if it is rolling admissions there are hundreds of them coming in so it is actually not odd that your has not been logged in yet. I would wait until Friday...don't worry.

Remember, the schools rely upon workstudy students to do the letter opening, file creation and filings.

so its normal?

Is there anything normal with teenagers?

is there anything normal 1,071 posts?

nope, not unless it hits 2000 posts.

I just called my son's 2 EA schools because web sites for both said SAT and ACT scores (requested online 9-24) had not been received. I called the admissions offices and was told by both that they had nor record of the scores. Then I said they were requested 9-24: they must be there. So they looked again somewhere else and found the. Sounds like they're getting swamped with stuff.

Things take time to be processed. After every deadline you will see these panicked posts on CC. No one ever reports back that something was not received in a timely fashion and this caused an application to be rejected.

In the personal experience of my family, schools simply notify you if something is missing from the file. Then you resubmit. Problem solved.

Others have similarly reported being notified by colleges.

Of course, stay on top of things. There may be less obliging colleges out there. But don't expect instantaneous file annotations from places getting thousands of documents all at once. Give every place time to pull things together. If they still say that something is missing, you can resend it at that point.
