Why is college tuition so high for private institutions?

How do you know that going to a private school really is actually better? If you never went to a state school, how do you really know that going to a private school is better?.

I will give you an exmaple of my history professor at my state school. He taught at Stanford and other “top” schools. He said that basically the same thing is taught in all the schools around the nation. Accounting 101 at Stanford is the same as Accounting 101 at a state school. And, based on his observations, students are generally the same everyone. You have have the good students and the bad students at every school. He stated that there is a very minimal difference in a state and private school and that “prestige” is really overrrated.

I never said you stated it. Rather, I said you were arguing against it. You need to be more careful when you read posts.

I’ve done research :rolleyes:. You ask some silly questions.

You are making no sense.

I stated this: “Some people think paying $160k for a bachelor’s is better than paying $30k at the state school. I beg to differ.”

How did I changed my stance? The above statement states that I don’t think paying $160k is better than paying $30k. I don’t think you will necessarily get a better education by paying $130k more.

I am arguing against this: “Getting a bachelors degree from a top school is better than getting it from a mediocre school. That’s it.”

Arguing against this:

Is not the same as arguing against this:

I know you realize this, but, for some reason, you’re being stubborn.

It’s the same. The first statement I was saying that getting a bachelor’s degree at a top school is not necessarily better than a state school. The second statement I was saying that it doesn’t make sense to pay $160k for a college degree. What’s the difference?

Okay, this is pointless.

Nice talking to you and good luck with your career.

Finally you agree it’s pointless.

Good luck.

get a room already, jeeeeeeeeeez

oh, you know, why is the sky blue? ;}
