<p>I have always wondered this.</p>
<p>I think that it’s because of the breadth of sociology. It would definitely be hard to construct a viable syllabus that has a good enough combo of depth and breadth for colleges/universities to recognize it as a college-equivalent Sociology class.</p>
<p>You can always take CLEP sociology - if you are so inclined.</p>
<p>I’m already in dual credit Sociology; I was just wondering. If they have AP Psych (which my school doesn’t offer), why can’t they have AP Sociology?</p>

How hard is the CLEP Sociology exam? Do you need to take a course in order to take the exam?
