I guess, but the less satisfied a user is, it would seem to me the less likely that user is going to use cc regularly, and thus, the less likely they are going click on one of cc’s ads. In other words, a less satisfied user equals smaller advertising revenues. Of course, this is all in my opinion.

Who clicks on CC’s ads anyways? lol Oh, let me go answer “Who is the US President?” so I can get a chance to win a Green Card to the US!!! YES!!! I LOVE AMERICA!

Ha! I see WAY more posts from people who are unsatisfied (mad, angry, annoyed, upset, unhappy, rejected…) than from people who are satisfied. Would you have started a thread if USC was a “Top School” and everything was just the way you liked it? Would Malik have clicked on Uncle Sam’s picture???

Hey guys, because of CC ads not only am I now going to a medical university in China, but I have also found a VERY adorable condo to stay in during my time there. Sorry guys, not going to USC anymore. Random Chinese Medical School Class of 2014. This feels like destiny. Take care and hope you have a great time at USC…with your expensive condos! Tee hee!

Well that’s just it, nobody clicks on those ad’s purposefully, and that’s why I would think CC relies on the massive amount of web traffic they recieve to generate accidental clicks. Say for every 1,000 individuals that log on CC, one accidentally clicks on an add. Chances are CC has a contract drawn up with those companies advertising on their site, and gets payed an agreed upon value for each click.

But that’s all besides the point.

Logistically speaking, it makes no sense. The amount of users trying to access the USC forum pales in comparison to several of the top universities listed.

Maybe people are just getting a little too excited over this?

Answer these questions seriously: when you get off of cc and you’re going through life, does the fact that usc is not on the top colleges list still bother you or even cross your mind? Have you had an argument about that with your friends in person?

we all know usc is an amazing school and I don’t think its status is being challenged by a forum lol

Maybe it depends on the department. For SCA, it is the toughest (besides NYU) to get into in the US, maybe the WORLD! :)

Eh, that’s because USC has only RECENTLY been a top school. Back in the 90s, USC was still ranked in the 40s. Many of the Top CC schools have been ranked highly for many decades. 1 decade or 1 year of USC being #26 isn’t going to make it a top college. It still has a history of decades and decades of trashy, spoiled children, good for nothing but football school reputation to get rid of.

And to point out what someone said, just because a CC university forum is “popular” doesn’t mean its a top school.

^ I agree. Back in the day, even USC students wouldn’t go on their own campus toilets. They chose to use the public ones…

but the point is its top “CC” universities and not top “UNSWR” universities

but USC is lik in d top 10 unis… it has to be thr!!!

In the 70’s-early 90’s USC stood for University of Spoiled Children LOL. Of course they were called that by UCLA students LOLOL

It looked to me like they took their "top’ lists from whatever was listed as such in US News at the time they put the site together, pretty much.

My guess is they are not too eager to make changes, imagine the backlash if your school had previously been listed in “top” but then taken out to make room for USC. Probably requires some programming time/cost to implement, too.

because UCLA would cry over it. they’re still getting over the fact that we placed higher then them according to US NEWS. this would put the icing on the cake. :)

@monydad

Cant they just make an extra space for usc, i mean were totally better than UVA, UCLA, Mich, heck even emory and vandy are overrated

I donno, ask them. But I haven’t seen them changing these things much, if at all. My guess is they don’t really like getting into debates about who should be where.

there would be no programming costs necessary… to create a new forum it simply takes a few clicks in the control panel of the forum

Don’t ask, people tried earlier and the forum staff got all upset.

My daughter is a senior graduating from Marshall in May and already has job offers. No one has ever asked her about USC’s ranking on CC, or anywhere else for that matter, so I’d get over it.

ever since USC went one rank above UCLA in USNWR, it’s all i see USC students talking about.

yes, USC is the best school in the world. Stanford? Caltech? they don’t compare to USC.
