Question - if not direct to Kelley as OOS, how easy is it to transfer into Kelley? S was accepted to Public Health his second choice. Originally thinking finance with a minor in Sport Management.
Would love to know from the students in Kelley how the school vies students at the school who try to tranfer into Kelley? Easy? Impossible? Good schedule with direction from counselor? Any information would be helpful.
@Seacoast TBH I wouldn’t go OOS if I didn’t get direct admit to Kelley. Indiana has a great reputation but if you want business why pay so much for the chance of getting or not getting into Kelley? I’m trying to determine if it’s worth it with a scholarship and with a direct admit. I don’t know specifically how it is to get in if you are not a direct admit. I heard conflicting information. Good luck!
Kelley is ranked as one of the best business schools in the country - that tied with one of the only schools with a sport management degree offered as a major and minor is a great attraction to our son. Their program for studying overseas is also a strong factor for him, well thought out and great curriculum.
According to the current website a B or higher in all required classes and a GPA 3.3 or higher as a freshman and he has a great chance of getting in and staying in. We plan on contacting the school tomorrow to get clarification. He has scholarships at other schools but after visiting last summer and reading more about their alumni support for future job opportunities really has him sold on the school.
@Seacoast I was told that the Kelley students overseas experience is very limited due to the intense work at school and they typically do not get to spend a semester abroad. I hope you can verify all this information directly with the school. Good luck.
@NewYorker404, ^^ this is not true. Many Kelley students spend a semester abroad. I am the mom of a Kelley business honors junior majoring in finance with a technology management co-major and Spanish minor who is currently studying abroad. While abroad, she is fulfilling 1 finance elective, 1 business mgmt requirement, 1 A&H and completing her Spanish minor. She knows many other Kelley students who have or are currently studying abroad. She did come to IU with some AP credits and took 1 online course through our local community college two summers while working full time. So with a bit of careful scheduling, studying abroad is very possible, and even encouraged, at Kelley.
@stbemtpynest that’s good to know because I specifically asked this at a Kelley event and was told by an administrator. Perhaps I misunderstood.
Yep, I’ve heard going abroad is very, very popular at Kelley.
