Okay, there are only a few days left to make a decision and I am down to 3 choices - Marquette U., UW-Madison, and Carleton College. I am not sure of my major, but it will be probably in one of the sciences. I plan to go to grad scool after getting my bachelor's degree. I am a very good, serious student, took tons of AP's and got a 30 ACT score.
I am not that keen on the mega student population of Madison, but I would really appreciate some feedback from anyone out there.
HELP!!

Why would you turn down Carleton, one of the best LACs in the world, and UW-Madison, one of the best research university in the world, for Marquette? I assume you got some serious money.

UW-Madison might be big, but there are thousands of ways to make it smaller.

Personally, I felt at home at Marquette. I really liked the community atmosphere. It's all a subjective and personal decision. Which place did you feel the most comfortable? You have to honestly ask yourself where you can see yourself for the next few years of your life. I'm sure you will be happy wherever you end up!

I agree that Marquette has a warm atmosphere even though we visited the campus on the coldest day of the year (2/18/2006) for the scholarship competition and related events.

I thought that the administration, faculty, alumni and current students put on a very informative presentation for parents and prospective students.

My son is going there in the Fall to major in journalism. The head of the journalism department really seemed like a professor who gets involved with his students. He can also start working in his major as a freshman.

I only know one person who went to Carleton. He's a workaholic lawyer who is all business and no fun. To me, UW-Madison will always be where Vietnam War dissidents blew up the lab.

so lavender, whatdya decide? sent a card in yet? just curious.

It's going to be Carleton. The card is going in the mail tomorrow.
