"Why Penn" essay: it's also "Why course"

If you have a look at the “Why Penn” essay, the first thing it mentions is why you’ve chosen the course you want to take up. I’m really passionate about business, and hence I’ve spent one half of my essay explaining why I want to study business, and the next half explaining why Wharton is the right place.

However, most people I’ve seen on this board seem to focus more on the “Why Penn” aspect…which approach is right?

Also, I’ve used “Wharton” a lot many more times than I’ve used “Penn”, simply because I want to go to Wharton more than I want to go to Penn (please don’t take the face value and say they’re the same). Good or bad to refer to one school and not the university?

Inputs would be much appreciated

That is a good question

the essays is really ANYTHING GOES as long as you answer WHY PENN or what is has to offer, i think you are safe

joe blog - i did the same thing as you! i focused all of my essay on wharton, and then in the last paragraph i connect it to penn.

i hope this is ok!

i wouldnt worry, you seem on the right track

do we need our name on each essay? or will they connect it to our application?

I'm using my name as a footer on each page just to make sure.

I think you should have name and SSN on top or bottom
