Whatever UG college you are in will dictate your dorm. For example, I am in the Undergraduate College of Arts, Culture, and Humanities and I therefore live in Tabler Quad.

So what are the chances of getting into the UG college of your choice? Iv heard that Science and Society is the most popular and therefore most difficult to get into. Im going in for premed, btw.

You make a ranked list from 1-6 of your preferred college. 95% get into one of their top two choices.

My S was accepted to Stony Brook. We are originally from NY but currently live in FL. He is very anxious to get back to NY. We are still waiting for decisions from other NY schools before he makes the final decision. My concern is that I’ve heard that SBU is mainly a commuter school. Not sure that’s what he really wants or me for that matter. He’s really into sports and I’m worried there won’t be much for him on the weekends. Also, how do you reserve your spot for housing? Thanks for your help.

Housing is guaranteed for all incoming freshmen who deposit before May 1. There are plenty of weekend activites, you just have to find them.
