So almost all my AP teachers have been talking about "the test" recently (registrations right around the corner), and I'm wondering what the point is of taking them. I mean, unless I get a 5, most schools won't give me credit for them and I can't very well put them on an app now. So why should I sign up for these tests?

You might as well try to get a 5 or else the whole year will be like a waste sorta.

You can get college credit for a 4 also in many courses. Plus, youll get a gpa weight.

sorry I forgot to mention also that I can't get any more GPA weight

AP tests are not meant to be an app booster AT ALL. The tests are for credit, and you take them for the credit. And in some cases, you take them for AP awards if you so desire them.

Yeah I've been trying to decide whether I should take them this year... I'm planning to take all the first year requirements anyways, and I alread have 2 5's. So I guess it wouldn't really be worth the added stress?

At my school, if you don't take the test, you lose the AP weighting

doodle, does your school clearly let u know that b4 u register? b/c i don't know if my school has that policy or not as well
