Why would PRINCETON be SLOWER this year?

ok, it seems that last year's applicants RECEIVED their decisions (via SNAILMAIL) around DECEMBER 14 or so.

so why would P'ton have to ship them out ON DEC.15? i doubt that ~50 more ED applicants would change a whole lot in terms of time required. maybe they are debating on HOW MANY to accept? it is their last year of ED, though im not sure i really see how that would affect anything. maybe this year's applicants are all stronger?

what are your thoughts on this? i thought we should just reason it out, and come up with some sort of explanation. we are p'ton CC kids, after all and we don't just accept everything as it is w/o feeling frustrated :)

isn't this the first year of qb applicants? maybe that had something to do with it? don't quote me on it becuase i'm too sure about the qb program...

yep.. we must be either be furious or ecstatic with anything that happens... nothing shall be accepted normally.

I think that they are not giving us the exact date just because they haven't fianlized it yet! Adcom debates must have taken longer than expected, so they do not want to promise applicants of an early release of their decisions (imagine the degree of frustration of waiting at the doorstep for days!) .

I still feel it is highly possible that the decisions are mailed earlier, like last time.

mailed earlier like last time? well, did they have trouble stating an exact date last time? or did they have no probs at all sending them early-mid week?

One of my friends has two or three older brothers at Princeton and he said that both years Princeton stated that they would mail the decisions out December 15, but that one of his brothers RECEIVED his decision (and we are waaay down in Texas) on December 9 and the other one on like December 13. But both before the 15th. So maybe they're just trying to avoid the flood of angry calls that would ensue if they said that they would mail them out on a certain day and then it turns out that they don't.

Well I for one have high hopes again...

Isn't there some deal that you can call Princeton to check? Wasn't that discussed earlier? If that is the case, why can't everyone just call on the 15th?

I concur with j07.

You can call like two days after they send it (Told that by soemone who picked up one of my calls). She said after they send it, call in, and they should be able to give you the decision.

my brother got his right on the 15th and i got mine on april 1st, just as they said.

I don't think its worth all the worrying as to when we will receive our decisions. Princeton clearly does not want to give an exact date, which probably means they don't have an exact date. I'm sure they will come sometime this week. I hope the best for everyone.

I like it to come unexpected...

It's like BOOM -- either sudden bliss or sudden...death. HAHA.

It will come unexpected. In fact, I wouldnt be suprised to find myself suprised to see it on my doorstep Thursday.

OMG,,, not a bad chance that I might find the envelope on Monday in school mail box???

Well that's kind of annoying information, though. Now I'll wonder if I should expect a letter everyday this week.

ok a glimmer of light amidst the darkness~~~ :)
