Why

Why do you want to go the Air Force Academy?

I am sure many people have several reasons for going. I want to go so that I can become an officer in the Air Force and then a fighter pilot. Personally, I rather join the military then do a regular civilian job. Also, it is much more stressful/demanding then a normal college, which will give me more experience in stressful situations. But my main reason is to fullfull my life long dream of becoming a fighter pilot in order to protect American and its people.

I have various personal reasons:
1. I love discipline..in say an average high school..there is none...kids are idiots..I want to be in an environment where discipline, integrity, dignity, leadership, and mental strength thrive.

I want to be an AF officer, I want lead, influence, inspire. I want to be the guy glorified in a blue uniform with great integrity.

I want to serve my country...when I die..I want to die for my country.

Want to use my passion (Computers) somewhere else besides a civilian office building working for some snotty boss. I want to use it in the USAF, maybe work for the Department of Defense making our networks safer..or programming for jets.

If I come up more I will post...

Let's get other people's reasons for wanting to join AFA :)

Like for me..you can look at it as a constant reminder to strive to get in, or to strive to stay in and do well.

-Zach

i want to make a difference.

I'm here for the challenge, discipline, like-minded people, comradery, opportunities, and the chance to use what I love to help and protect everyone who has taken care of me. And I stay.

I came here to make a positive difference. I want to use my passion and skills to make the world better...whether that be dropping bombs on the bad guys, helping disaster victims, or merely deterring those whith harmful intent.

I was attracted to USAFA because it is a challenge, the USAF demands integrity, excellence and service--all of which I aspire to.

REPOST

What first got my attention to the academy is the ability after graduating to have a oppurtunity to fly the most powerful weapons in the world, while serving for the greatest nation on earth. However I love the thought of the constant compeition and comradery that I know awaits me at the academy. I know that once I graduate I will be one of a distinct group of people who can say that they take pride in who they are and their decision to defend their country. Not to mention it offers one of the premier post-highschool educations in the nation. On top of that one gets "paid" to go there. How can you beat it?

P.S. I've never been in CAPs either(so no influence on me)

I want to go to the Academy because I want to make a difference in other's lives. I want to graduate and serve my country as an officer and pilot in the greatest Air Force in the world. Being an Air Force officer is about integrity first, service before self and excellence in all you do, and the Academy will teach all these core values as well as provide a top notch education. Whenever I get discouraged while training for BCT, I just think of how bad I want this and how nothing can stop me from achieving my goal. Nothing can beat the excitement of going to work and flying a jet at supersonic speeds halfway across the world!

I want to be a part of something larger than myself.

I don't want to get up from some apartment or a house in the suburbs and sit at a desk from 9-5.

These are good...keep them coming guys.
