<p>IS public Wifi everywhere in the campus? Or there are lots of wifi with password required? Are the public ones safe?</p>

<p>There is campus wifi in most places. Some of the dead zones are a little odd, some make sense, and vice versa for locations where the signal is strong.</p>
<p>The old campus wifi is cruznet. You can either login with your cruz id and blue password or you can login in as a guest. You’re autologged out after 4 hours (roughly) and have to open a browser window to log back in.</p>
<p>However, there is a new wifi on campus called eduroam. You set it up to login with the same cruz id and blue password, but it’s a protected network that (supposedly) will work in other locations that use eduroam (ex: another campus). I prefer this since always opening a browser does get tiresome after awhile.</p>
<p>There are also individual wifis around campus that are operated by different departments for their own use and wifis that students have set up. These are not ones you will typically have access to.</p>
<p>Both cruznet and eduroam are safe, but I usually only did my sensitive transactions over resnet (wired access in dorms) before eduroam.</p>
