If it was a deciding factor, I could go to FSU, where the honors dorm has single rooms with their own bathrooms (so fully private bathrooms). That was the best dorm situation I’ve seen, but that doesn’t make me want to go there very much.

The Co-ed communal bathrooms really aren’t that hard to get used to.

I think it is better to have like 4+ showers and stalls for 30 people than like 1 or 2 showers and stalls for like a small suite of 8-12 people. It seems there were fewer times when everyone was using all the shower stalls.

The only thing I missed was having urinals (but you don’t get those in the smaller bathrooms either).

Also the fact that having a communal bathroom usually means you’re on a bigger floor is a plus as well. While having 8 suitemates is fine, nothing beats a group of like 20+ people who are all good friends.

For me when I go to college I would prefer having a dorm room where me and another room shares one bathroom because that’s what my step brother has and it seems to work pretty well but it doesn’t really matter to me.

It’s funny because me and my mom discussed bathrooms the other day and she doesn’t want me to use communal bathrooms. She’s afraid I’ll catch some horrendous disease or something…

bathrooms are just disgusting in general o_O
call me crazy, but i was on the verge of tears by the 2nd day of using communal bathrooms in michigan.
ewww i hate thinking about it
i obviously have some type of psychological problems that need to be worked out :p
