Will a Lack of Challenging Courses Affect my Chances?

I come from a really tiny high school, where each grade has around 30 kids. The reason for this is that I’m an international student and this is the only American (or international) school in my city.

Because of the fact that the school is so small, all high school students take the same courses in grades 9 and 10: science, math, english, social studies, french (except for an Extended Math class in 10th grade, which I took, though it wasn’t really all that advanced, if we’re being frank).

After this however, it gets better, and I have just entered the IB program. I have taken on a heavy course load of 5 HL courses: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and English Literature, as well as SL French. Only 3 students in the history of my school have taken 4 HLs, and I am the only one to have ever taken 5.

Will colleges penalize me for the lack of advanced courses in grades 9 and 10, even if they weren’t offered?

The school will send in a school profile with your transcripts. This will let adcoms know what is offered and what is not offered there.
