I was not able to take Spanish 3 my junior year because it conflicted with the other classes in my schedule, but I know that lots of colleges like to see 3 years of foreign language, so should I take Spanish 3 my senior year instead of AP Biology? My original plan was to have double ap sciences senior year with physics and bio but now that I’m missing that third year of Spanish I’m not sure what I should do. Some advice would be greatly appreciated.
If any of the schools you are applying to recommend 3 or more years of language, then you should take the Spanish. Missing AP bio shouldn’t be a problem as long as you have taken regular or honors bio at some point.
Many schools do want a minimum of 3 years of a foreign language. Check the requirements/recommendations of schools you plan to apply to and if any ask for 3 years of foreign language I’d opt for Spanish over a second AP science. Keep in mind that most applicants will have met the required/recommended coursework and if you don’t your application could be at a disadvantage.
