Hello,

I had a great transcript for 8th and freshman year. My grades were all 96+, and thus my GPA was a 4.0. I skipped ahead a level of math, also, so Im in precalc this year.

Adjusting has been extremely difficult. Freshman year was super cushy, so the workload has been absolutely crushing. In addition to that, my algebra skills are shaky, so I have gotten a few bad grades in precalc.

Obviously, it isnt the end of the world; I have all year to pull up my averages. But, lets say hypothetically that I finish the year with... an 88 in precalc. Would this hurt my chances of getting in to top schools (e.g. Brown, CMU, Cornell, Middlebury, Swarthmore)?

Thanks in advance!
