I got into cal poly under the bio major. However, I just realized that on the application I put down that I was taking ap bio this year. I ended up dropping the class before the end of the first quarter. I sent in my mid year transcripts to cal poly and am now being told they will have to reconsider my application. I don't know if I should start looking at other options for next year! What's the chance that they will rescind me?? If this helps I have already taken bio, chem, and honors physics so ap bio wasn't a necessary credit.

Hopefully you have other options to consider.

If they accepted you as a bio major and saw that you dropped AP bio, they may be concerned that you will not do well in college bio. Or they may have concern about honesty, not seeing this as a simple forgetting to update the admissions people.

Thanks so much for replying! Hopefully they won’t think it’s dishonest since I emailed them prior to sending in the transcripts and brought it too their attention in the first place. I have heard that as long as you fulfill their requirements for admission you’ll be alright. However, I’m not sure if this is right and if it is what are the requirements for a bio major at cal poly? What factors go into making the initial decision of acceptance?
