So my situation is that I got accepted to UCSB as a biology major. However I had told them I planned to take three classes and I ended up dropping one of them. I had 18 units and it was too much to handle if I wanted good grades in every class. The class I dropped was a pre-req for my major so now they said they can no longer accept me into the program because I dropped the class, which is understandable. If I still wanted to go to UCSB I'd have to just pick another major. The thing is I called this lady, one of the admissions counselors, and she told me if I got accepted into the other major I could never go back and declare myself a bio major. EVER.
I just wanted to ask, what if I went down there and took this ONE class at the local CC, why couldn't I change my major after that? The way she made it sound, and how it might be, is that as long as I was at UCSB I'd never be a Bio major, all because of this one class. I really want to talk to ask her, but she wasn't really that helpful to begin with. Anyone have any experience with a similar situation, or know anything about this?
