will canceling my housing application effect my financial aid?

Hi all,

So i recently joined a fraternity at the university of washington and I need to cancel my housing application for the residence halls--i received a substantial amount of financial aid and i am wondering if canceling my housing application and moving over to the fraternity will effect how much i will be getting. if it matters, the fraternity comes out about 1500 cheaper than the halls (both including room AND board).

thanks!

This is probably too late but no, it won’t affect it…the two categories are “living at home with parents/relatives” and “traditional student living away from home”. So it doesn’t matter whether or not you are living in the dorms…either way, you qualify for the second option.
