Maybe you should apply to some “public ivies”?
Try University of Michigan, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as Safeties/Low Matches.

Good luck to you! Chance me back please?!

Match-UCSD, UC-Berkeley, BC
High Match-Hopkins
Low Reach-Vanderbilt
Reach-Harvard, Penn, Yale, Cornell

I also second the idea to apply to some public Ivies, especially U of Michigan

Thanks for the advice! Going to look into the public Ivies. Also applied to BU, Northeastern & UCONN as my “safeties” and was just admitted to Penn State.

Indiuni31, will chance you back. What schools are you looking into?

Not sure why students here are calling UCB a match - it’s one of the country’s top state universities, and it’s almost never a match for an OOS applicant.

If “Penn” is Penn State, where you’ve been accepted, here’s how I’d chance you:

Reach: Harvard, Yale, Cornell
Low reach: Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, UC Berkeley, UVA
Match: UCSD, BC
Low match: BU, Northeastern, UConn
Accepted: Penn State

Are your parents OK with paying 55K a year for the UC schools? They offer little to no financial aid for OOS students.
