Will college look down at this?

I'm a rising sophomore, and next year my schedule is Honors algebra 2, english, history, and chemistry/physics, basically all that sophomores are allowed to take. For electives I have Theatre and French 3. I have one empty space for another elective, which I was going to use for computer programming. Theres one history teacher who is known to give a lot of work and be really tough, and I was thinking maybe I should take study hall instead of that computer class, so then I could make my life a little easier. 100% chance I will have him for history. I know colleges don't like too see too many free periods in schedules, but I was wondering how college would view this??? I mean, another elective was going to be in place of that study hall anyway... Freshman year I took honors classes and didn't have any free periods. I will be taking the most rigorous classes anyway and I did well my freshman year- 4.0 ranked 1/462. thoughts?

Your school sucks? j/k

Look, as long as your val I don't think it matters unless you go way beyond.

You have the 5 core courses, and an elective. That should be just fine.

Okay, I just hope this isn't going to affect my rank, I'll talk to my counselor about it.

fill the empty block with an easy, stress-free elective, but don't take a study hall. it probably won't affect your rank, but none the less, it does not look good.

Don't mess up kid. don't do it kid. I am begging you.

Ok now I'm really confused, what should I do? Seriously why does it look so bad

It doesn't look bad, it just doesn't look good. I would say don't do it, take an easy fun class. If history gets hard, you can always work something else out by doing work at home or etc. College admissions officers look at course rigor so that's why it's important.

Our school has required study hall, but if you have the option take something you will just enjoy, maybe a intro to another language? or an art class?

Pressurepressurepressure

Uh, do study halls even show up on your transcript? You have 6 classes, and lots of schools only have 7 periods, including lunch. But if you're really worried about that, maybe you could take an elective where you can get away with doing work for other classes, which can work well with art classes.

I could do Spanish 4, because I am a native Spanish speaker, but I am trying to make my life easier, not harder. I find other electives sort of a waste of time.

^ ...and study hall is not a waste of time?

You can take a study hall. It usually doesn't even show on your transcript. And if it does, it happens due to various scheduling conflicts. One semester of study hall is not going to harm your chances.

crap, im gonna have like 2 free periods out of 8 with like 5 APs in there. Just chill out dude(tte).
