Will Colleges Consider me a "URM" ?

Hi.
I'm East African/Indian. (African facial features, with slightly straighter hair)

On my college applications I marked the "other" box
and specified "East African/Indian"

(My friends and one of my teachers claim that I should have marked African-American explicitly to make it more clear.)

Will I still be placed in the URM pile?

Metal Gear . . .

Most likely. I would think so anywayz, but I'm not sure.

I dont think so... youre still Indian

acceptance, you're wrong.

Colleges can still officially put you into their "african american" category to boost their numbers of minorities since you are half black. That's legit. I'm sure, however, that the edge you'll get with what you put is good, but NOT as strong as just putting "afro am."

It is still a decent edge.

he is half black...therefore, he is a urm.

This isn't South Africa. You dont have to take the pencil test or have your nose measured.

foxdie
are u Somali?

Sure. It'll help.
