I’m a transfer student and like an idiot and because of crazy circumstances, I’m getting most of my applications submitted at the last minute. I sent in my test scores in today (02/27) however the deadline to several universities on my list was March 1st. I was all worried realizing they wouldn’t get them in time but later discovered those particular universities actually did not require test scores and it was optional. Now I’m bummed out because I didn’t realize this and my math scores were pretty weak so I know I’m actually a stronger applicant without my scores- based solely on my college transcript.
So my question is. If my test scores don’t arrive till after the application Deadline (which they won’t), Will universities still view and consider them? And if so is there any kind of take-backsys option? Thank so much. Please let me know.
I don’t think there’s a “take-backsys” option, but I would assume that your work ethic over a long period of time (ie your course grades) is more important than how you do on one test. I know that for freshman admissions, a lot (but not all) of colleges will look at scores that arrive a bit after the deadline. I’m not sure if this applies to transfer admissions as well.
Most colleges do not require the test score to arrive by the application deadline for transfers. That you have ordered them sent within the deadline is usually enough so you are raising an issue that likely does not exist, And no, there is no option to take them back.
Really? Does that apply for transcripts and other paper work? Does every have to have arrived by the deadline or just be postmarked? And what about academic evaluations (through the common app)?
The actual application needs to be postmarked by the cutoff date. Things out of your control (transcripts, scores) are allowed to dribble in later.
