our school does not weight the college classes i have taken over my high school years and therefore my cumulative weighted grade is significantly below what it should be. will admissions officers weight these classes on a 5.0 scale when transcripts show them as only 4.0(A)?

Only the real elite colleges recalculate gpa's. The fact that you took the classes will count alot in your favor, although large public universities are more numbers oriented.

If the college does recalcuate the gpa, it is up to them how they do it and different colleges will do it differently. They probably won't include gym or non-academic courses, though.
