will colleges??

Well I work about 48 hours during the summer and I see my friends going out to these impressive ssp like brown and etc. But I cannot afford those programs. Will colleges hold it against me?

Nope.

It really doesn't make that big of a difference. Legally they can't favor a student who's been to their campus or attended a summer program there over one who hasn't.

^ yes and legally they cannot discriminate against students of certain races...and yet they still do. :-/

OP- no they probably won't care.

I mean my stats are really good its just that I have to work to help my family out.

Yes, colleges are all racists and they're all out to slander the minorities until all they have are a bunch of white kids.

for the heck of it I am going to apply to RSI and TASP summer 08. But $5,000 for a month is a lot of money.

that's not what I meant at all. I was talking about affirmative action...harder for asians etc.

Ohhh yes.

I misunderstood, beg your pardon. :)

SSP's are a bit of a hook, I've been told. But that doesn't mean that you can't make up for your lack of an SSP with different activities.

Well that cheers me up. :)

"Well I work about 48 hours during the summer"

-48 hours a week?

yes. I meant 48 hours a week.

well it would be kinda lame if he only worked 48 hours for an entire summer :p

too bad im a stupid korean. :(

colleges cant really discriminate because they make alot of money from international students..
