How much will taking and extra science HL instead of an SL affect my application?
They may not even notice.
Coming from someone who’s in their senior year of the IB diploma and who has struggle through it like you, they will notice from your transcripts and if they have a remote understanding of the ib program will understand the value. Good job on doing 4 HLs - it’s tough work - cheers!

It won’t help, and it won’t hurt (unless your grades tank from taking 4 HL’S)
Most HS’s with IB will not allow a students to take more than the standard 3 HL’s. Columbia will not give you brownie points simply because your school does allow 4 HL’s, and other applicants don’t have that opportunity. It’s still impressive though. Good luck.
