Will Cornell Raise my Fin. Aid?

Right Now, I would have to pay 39k for Cornell, and my parents told me I need to bring it down to 25k. Is there any chance Cornell could bring it down this low for me? Is there any financial info I should bring when I visit them next week to convince them? Unfortunately, our family's financial situation has not changed that much for 2004...Any help is greatly appreciated.

u got ur finalized financial packet? did ur parents send in the 2004 tax return, cause i was admitted ed, and i still havent received anything except the preliminary packet- which is subject to change

The chances of them changing your financial aid package is slim to none. They pretty much have a formula for it and base their aid off the FAFSA and the CSS profile. Those are basically just computer algorithms to determine your financial need. Even if they were to adjust it a little, there's no way they would change it by $15k. If you are dying to go to Cornell, you can always take out loans yourself and pay them off when you graduate. There's a possibility that Cornell might be able to extend more in loans from the university, but in terms of grant assistance, I would say probably not, sorry.

39k is basically the whole package. Did you get any aid/scholarships?

Sigh. no one listens to me LOL. For ED admits, you don't get your finalized package till a bit later b/c you were already accepted. IF you sent in your 2004 returns, and the income didn't change much, then your award didn't change much. That's what the fianncial aid office told me. Call em up sternie!

i tried to get them to raise it and they didn't, but i'm still going there.
