Will doing dual enrollment full time help me get into UF?

I plan on doing dual enrollment full time and graduating with my A.A. If I keep my GPA up and while doing this will this significantly help my chances?

Taking any DE/IB/AICE/AP/Honor classes help vs taking standard classes.

If you earn an AA, it may also could help in admissions. You first go through regular admissions like any first time in college (FTIC) students. This normal freshman admissions is handle by the admissions group for the University and they do not consider your major.

However, if you’re not accepted, they THEN take your major into account and send your applications to your college/major. The college will then consider you as a TRANSFER student, and may accept you at that point.

So, in essence, you have two chances at admissions.

Good Luck!

Just remember the downside–you won’t have any time to decide on majors. If you go into graduate school you’ll be one of the youngest in the class competing with those who may have multiple degrees.

Will I get financial aid if I am considered a transfer student even though I just graduated high school?

Yes, for Bright Futures. The other freshman “merit” based scholarships are very competitive. If you get one of those, you would get accepted as a normal freshman student.

This would have no impact on “need” based aid.
