Okay so I’ve had my mind set to attend medical school and thus have taken many of the required prerequisites; one of them being precalculus. However, I didn’t complete the course and earned a W. In this current Spring semester, I decided to enroll in precalculus again and I currently have a C+. My plans have now changed and I plan to attend PA school and have realized that many programs don’t require precalc and instead require statistics, which I have already taken and received an A. I am thinking of withdrawing from precalc for the second time, since it is no longer needed and I want to save my GPA. Lets say I focus on applying to PA programs that don’t require precalc, do you know if receiving two W’s in that class will hurt my chances of getting into programs? Any help will be much appreciated!
Look at some schools that offer PA programs and check their requirements for GPA’s and prerequisites. Be aware that you will also need 300-500 or more patient contact hours to get into any PA program. And don’t think that PA school is any easier than med school - just shorter.
W’s in pre-med or pre-PA courses would not be looked at favorably.
