Hello,

I have maintained straight A's and B's all 3 years of my High school stint.
The same goes for the 1st quarter of my senior year.
Then I was accepted into GA Tech.

Come 2rd quarter, I get a surprise C in Network Administration (one of my 'favorite') classes.
Come 3rd quarter, I get a C in Chem II (regular class) and a C in AP English comp & writing
Come 4th quarter, I'm expecting to get another C in AP English.

In between 3rd and 4th quarters, I was travelling abroad for 20 days visiting family.

My GPA has gone down from 3.7-8 to 3.1-4.

Will GA Tech rescind my acceptance?

no. no offense but that drop in GPA is HIGH…sorry
but if it makes you feel better my twin sister thinks you still have a chance :)

Well, correct me if my GPA math is funky, but heres what I expect to get 4th quarter.
A Art class
A PE
A AP Gov
A AP Calc
B Life in Bible Times
B Chem II
C AP English

If A’s = 4, B’s = 3, C’s = 2 then my GPA should be about 3.42 (unweighted) I have no idea what the weighted GPA is, or even if GA Tech accepts weighted GPA’s. I was just giving the 3.1 as a worst possible case scenario, which I doubt will happen.

I think tech does accept weighted GPA’s simply b/c in georgia even the HOPE is weighted…are you in state?

No, I’m from Nevada, what’s HOPE?

not for u, cuz ur not in-state

(3.0 In-Staters pay $0 tuition)

Righto, I’m good to go, financially speaking. I just need to know if they’ll rescind me for 3-4 C’s.

they won’t rescind you…

j245rash
HOPE isn’t weighted

My counselor told us that an AP B is a 3.5 but As are still 4

They weight AB, IB, pre-IB, and honors.

Thats nice to know, but I’m neither eligible, nor interested in HOPE. Stephenn thinks they won’t rescind me, though I’d appreciate some reasons to back up his opinion.

Were those final grades for those classes or just quarter grades?

They were quarter grades only.

Then you should be fine.

I agree. You should be fine grade-wise. Plus, you’re paying oos tuition, so they want your money! ;)
