Will getting a no pass grade screw up my financial aid?

I attend UCSD, have a Cal Grant, am taking 3 classes (this is required for full aid). I ended up taking on a class I thought I could handle adding late, but lemme just say things are terrible. Two tests tomorrow and I just came down with a very nasty illness this week so I can’t even focus on my studies…every part of me feels awful and I’m depressed.

It’s not the end of the world though. I can just learn, study, and take the placement test in order to bypass this class. It won’t have been a waste. With that said, I’m afraid. I’m unsure if it’s wise to drop the class because that would bring me down to part time status, which supposedly influences financial aid. And so what I’m most interested in is the subject line: if I were to change to no pass/pass now and let it play out, would there be technical consequences? And of what kind?

Thank you.

Talk to your GC and ask that question.

Talk to the prof to find out how you can catch up. School just started about 3 weeks ago, so you probably can catch up.

Talk to the FA office about impact of failing this class.
