will graduate high school in 2008, and I would like to know my chances at Berkley

OOS
UCLA 2nd choice (I'd much prefer Cal)
Kansas City, 16 year old female (dunno if that's relevant in anyway but what the hell)

Weighted GPA as of the end of my Sophomore year was 4.3 or so. Rank = 30/430. Freshman year I had all A's, sophomore year (HORRIBLE YEAR overall) I screwed up and got about half B's in the duration of the entire year (all in AP/H classes, however). I'm pulling my grades way up this year, shooting for all A's. My classes are:

Precalc H
Physics 1H
English11 AP
Bio 2AP
French 4
US History AP
Anatomy and Physiology

Now, I'm a little worried about my ECs. I'm in my school's Gay-Straight Alliance, NHS, ACLU (dunno if that counts), began volunteering at the hospital and plan to do so for the duration of high school (more because I'm interested than something to stick on to look good)

My planned major will either be medicine or psychology

I have not taken the SATs (actually I'm taking the PSAT tomorrow) or ACT, and I haven't started essays, which I know makes this kinda hard to judge. However, I'm planning on putting all my effort into these things.

Does it sound like I have a chance at Berkeley? Much thanks to anyone who replies. I'm ashamed to admit this keeps me up at night.

Hey it keeps me up at night too. I planned what i need to get into Berkeley and apparantly its probably not gonna happen. If you get a high SAT score, that'll make up for a somewhat low GPA. Maybe around 2150-2250, because the SAT and GPA are put in together into a formula that is calculated into one number.

oh, I hope so. Good luck to you

anyone else wanna add?

what did u get on psats as a sophmore?

srabiee:

UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach (out of state)
