Hi everyone, here is some info about me:

I had a 1.7 GPA at the end of highschool and attended a community college full time for a year (two semesters). I ended with a 2.7 GPA. I have not taken the SATs or ACTs. Is there any chance I will get into Ohio State?

I really want to make it there but obviously that is not a contributing factor. Input is welcome and appreciated! Thanks.

How many credit hours have you earned? If you have earned 30 semester hours/45 quarter credits, they will not ask for your high school transcript or ACT/SAT scores.

I was recently accepted with a 2.9 GPA from a four year college (Iowa), though I did have a difficulty courseload. I think you might have a chance. Supposedly their admissions office goes extremely easy on transfers.

Where are you from? I’ve seen people from Ohio get accepted with 2.0’s

How long did it take to get a decision

When you say Iowa, are you talking about the University of Iowa? If so I would be just curious on why you decided to transfer. I also know several students who will not be returning to Iowa, each told me they like the school but unfortunately they decided to leave.

Tomber although Ohio State University is a competitive school I think you have a decent chance. Ohio State University usually accepts over 80 percent of transfer applications. This number may be influence by community colleges within the state that have automatic admission.

@curious45: I applied May 12th, and was accepted June 10th. It took a long time for all of my required materials to arrive to OSU, though. I suspect that the admissions committee made the actual admission decision within a couple of days.

@Coolbrezze: I was indeed a Hawkeye. I had originally gone to Iowa to study Pharmacy, but I decided to switch to business. Since Iowa is more of a health science school, I wanted to transfer somewhere that had a stronger business program, so I chose OSU. I see that you currently attend Iowa. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that school; I transferred purely because of business. You should be proud to be a Hawkeye.

Well you’re right Iowa has great science programs but if your looking at USNEWS graduate ranking for business programs although OSU is ranked 25, Iowa is ranked 40 and topics ten for nursing. Also just came across a recent post of yours about Rutgers, ranked 57th for business not sure on nursing by USNEWS.
Ofcourse USNEWS has errors because if it didn’t I think Iowa would be ranked higher.

Good luck

@ Devodians Thanks for the info., it’s frustrating waiting. The application has been submitted for a month, but the final Spring transcript was just delivered on June 16th. (Transferring from a school on quarters)
