Basically what everyone is trying to tell OP is. Stay nerdy brah!

No.

People who’ve posted before me are right–what people will be looking down on you for is your insecurity. There are people who are interested in everything. Even in my high school, people were proudly showing off their Harry Potter/Pokemon/Dragonball/etc nerdiness and no one thought anything of it. Everyone’s got their thing. Some are just embarrassed to admit it.

The worst mistake you could make is being someone you’re not. Just do what you love and you’ll find people to bond with.

LOL, You’ll find that in college most people couldn’t care less about you or what you do. They have their own stuff going on. Most people don’t bother to mock others anymore. Don’t worry so much about it.

Pokemon? Ha, nerd.

Wanna battle sometime? I’m dead serious.

just be yourself, even if you are nerdy if your a cool confident person about it all, then people will be like hey you know so and so? yea hes a totall nerd but he can pull it off so hes cool.

Your interests don’t seem that nerdy, honestly. Star Wars and Harry Potter are uber-popular with mainstream audiences (Harry Potter is especially popular with chicks), and these days being a fan of anime does not qualify you as a nerd or a person with exotic tastes.

Star Trek is different, being the more cerebral (and better) franchise. You’re farther into nerd territory there. And if a person isn’t a STEM major they are disqualified from being called a nerd (with physics, astronomy, math, EE, CS, and CompE majors being king of the nerd hill), so what’s your intended major?

Honestly don’t sweat it. The more nervous you are about appearances the worst it will be. Try to be sociable and don’t under any circumstances be ashamed of your interests. If your roommates don’t like em then who cares. Remember this isn’t highschool so people are a tad more mature.

In a word…no. Not only will no one be thinking about your nerdiness, you’ll probably find a girl that likes all the same things that you do. If you get a jock roommate, you pay rent too (in a sense) so you won’t be bullied into cleaning up after him, even if he is a complete meathead (which probably won’t happen).

So go to college, do all your nerd crap, but do venture outside the room every so often to chill or work out.

bearsfan092, I already know who you are from Youtube.

Maybe, if I feel up to it.

Does this mean I’m e-famous now?

No, I’m just a guy who tried to find a way to RNG abuse stuff with a really good memory.

Hey hey hey

Nerd = smart

Geek = in a nutshell, socially awkward

The most athletic kid I know is in role playing games club at his university, so you never know.

And hell I’ve been known too play pokemon on an emulator at school (I actually put it on all of my high schools computers and ****ed them all off).

I wouldn’t go around flaunting these traits ( outside of groups designed around them). Just be yourself holmes. And work out a little

Why can’t you go to my college? We have the same interests. :)

I just stopped caring what people thought of me. I manage to have a social life, but people are taken aback sometimes when they come into my room to see my huge Vincent Valentine wallscroll, 5 Pokemon posters, and a desktop full of anime and Pokemon figures.

At orientation, my orientation leader told us to get rid of our “cool cards”. Your “cool card” is the ‘mask’ that you put on to fit in. I go out with friends the same way that many other college students do, but I don’t even try to hide my interests anymore. I’m proud of what I like.

Also… When it comes to getting girls… it totally depends on the girl. If you go to a large university, you’re bound to find an attractive girl with similar interests.
