A-G requirements are met but taking Pre-Calc as an accepted Sociology major. If get a D in Pre-Calc will my admissions be rescinded? Did math online past 1 1/2 years. Will the AOs be understanding?
Does your admission offer list a condition that you need to earn grades no lower than C in your in-progress courses? If so, or if it says something vague about maintaining your academic performance, you probably want to contact the college and ask the question directly.
For SDSU, the provisional admission conditions stated on the website:
You must maintain your overall GPA as reported on the application, and courses taken in your senior year must be completed with grades of C- or higher by the end of the spring 2022 term. If your GPA drops or you earn a D or F during your senior year in any course, any offer of admission may be withdrawn.
If you receive a D, then contact admissions before sending your final transcript. Offer to retake the class during the summer to see if they allow you to keep your acceptance. In the meantime, work with a tutor or your teacher and get that grade up to a C so you do not have to worry about being rescinded.
Is it better to email Admissions Officer now and let them know the situation and the plan to work with a tutor 5-days a week or wait until the D grade is final? At a 61% right now so a long way to go to a C-
Being proactive is always the best way to handle the situation. Yes, you can email admissions and tell them you are working with a tutor and trying to get your grade up to at least a C-. Most likely they will not give you a definitive answer regarding your admission but will wait until your final grade but at least they know about the situation.
Best of luck.
