No one can tell you definitvely that you will get in. It is becoming increasingly competitive and hard to get in many schools opf GU's caliber, and to predict.

Just know that you are on the right track. Keep doing what you are doing and get the GPA up. Also, you don't tell about ecs etc. but those are important too. You have time to round out your profile so go to it.

Good luck.

Class of 2013, so you're a sophomore now? Yeah you're definately ahead of the game... my advice is to take as many APs as possible and be committed to your extra-curriculars (even if you might not have a leadership role)... and SATs scores are easy to boost, just keep practicing... and remember Georgetown doesn't count WRT scores (not sure if that's going to be true your year though)...

Honestly tom5933, your chances don't look too good. My cousin had a GPA .2 points higher than you and SAT scores 100 points higher and got rejected. With those meager qualifications your better off trying your luck at 2nd or 3rd tier schools.

wow ricorodriguez, i think that's a bit harsh. i think this guy has a really good chance, especially if he's already this conscious of the process and he's only a sophomore! i was waitlisted at GU this year, and I only had a measley 1410 on the SAT and was at the 5% mark in my class. Honestly, I think chances vary immensely by applicant depending on your essays, recs, extracurrics, and demonstrated interest in the school. You are undeniably a strong applicant already; just continue to do what you're doing and I would say that from there the decision is out of your hands. Good luck and never give up!

As long as you bring up that GPA (I got in with a 3.7) and follow what soph12 said, I'm pretty sure you'll have a good chance. And for rico, I always though GU was a second tier school? Or is that just a matter of opinion?

If you have questions as to a schools ranking go to

Georgetown is ranked 23 out of all National Universities in the country...It has the top 100 listed, then followed by the rest of the tiers.

I wouldn't take the USnews rankings too seriously...
