Will I get into Bates?

Hey all!

I am considering applying early decision to Bates but I want to know if I actually have a shot. I plan of having a great essay and amazing recommendations

Here are some stats.

I go to a school that is top ranked nationally - top 2% of america
My GPA is 3.7 unweighted and 4.2 weighted
My classes have been mostly honors or APs
I play violin and I play for the symphony orchestra at my school
ACT is 29 not sure if it is worth reporting

ECs
Baseball - freshman year
Ultimate Frisbee - junior and senior year (led team to third in state junior year, season hasn’t started for senior year)
150+ hours of community service throughout my high school time.
African Drumming
Creative writing club
Math club (frosh year only)

Awards
Lowenstine Honors Scholarship - worth $25,000 to attend conserve school - attended first semester of junior year.
Frosh, soph, junior and senior honor society
Math leadership award

Etcs
Worked part time throughout high school
Camp counselor
Went on month long backpacking and canoeing trips during summers

Just wondering what people think

Your GPA seems fine and your ACT score is decent. You also have a diverse group of ecs. I’d say you definitely have a chance! Good luck!

The key to applying to Bates is to show a passion for Bates. All the students there seem to have an innate need to contribute, so it’s also good to demonstrate a passion for something in addition to wanting to attend Bates. Good luck
