I have been determined to become a veterinarian since I was in kindergarten. Now I’m determined to study Animal Sciences at Cornell and eventually attend veterinary school. I have completed eight online college courses with certificates in all of them, attended Cornell’s Summer College for Sustainable Animal Husbandry, coxswain on the crew team, president of the astronomy club, lead witness on the mock trial team, have eleven years of experience in piano and ballet, and have six AP courses. I haven’t taken the SAT yet but I have been studying for a year so far. What are my chances?
I forgot to say that I have more than forty hours of service.
I’m assuming you are a junior and are applying next year. Unfortunately, no one can give you a real answer, and if they do, it is meaningless. All of the top universities are so competitive now that they could fill their classes a couple times over with qualified students. You are obviously a strong candidate, although without GPA and test scores it is hard to tell. With a good GPA and test scores you will certainly be in the mix, but look at this year’s decisions threads and you will see plenty of people with those qualities who are deferred or outright rejected. Don’t focus on one school; you need to have a good mix of schools you can afford and would be happy to attend.
