I applied early decision to Emory University in Atlanta. Im a white girl from New Jersey who attends a public school in Manalapan, NJ. My SAT scores are a 1420 (680 verbal and 740 math) and my GPA is a 4.4 on a 4.3 scale. I am ranked 16/496. I have a lot of extra curricular activities such as being a 3 season varsity athlete while being captain of one of those three sports. I am also in NHS and ADAPT (Alcohol and druge abuse prevention team) and was selected and attended a leadership conference that was only offered to 20 students. I am a board member in a youth organization where I deal with community service projects. What does everyone think my chances are of getting into Emory early decision?

90%ish depending on SATII

I didnt do great on my SAT2s but they were not required. Emory does not need those scores but i did send them.
math1c- 710
math2c- 760
writing-640 (ugh!)

hey i applied ed as well to emory, i did ed 1, are you doing one or two?

I applied ED1. do u think i have an ok chance of getting in?

better than me, and im like 45% i think

bump bump bump

100% chance you will get in.

slipper i have a question, you seem to really like emory a lot but in that business forum you praise the ivies. whats the deal, im not saying you are contradictory but what makes emory so special

4.4 on a 4.3 scale makes no sense. Why am I seeing dozens of people giving outrageous GPAs like this? Typos?

no its weighted so honors courses count more so an A in an honors course counts as a 5.3 instead of a 4.3. thanks slipper u made my night

Hey FD,

I think the Ivies are an amazing preperation for business but emory is also a great school, especially in the south. there are lots of great schools. I guess my point is that in no way are econ majors at top LACs and Ivies excluded from top business careers, and often it is the reverse and their alumni have a huge presence in business. I think Emory is a great school that is easier to get into than any of the Ivies.

oh ok thats cool, thanks for clarifying

bump bump bump

bump bump bump..please give me your imput

bump bump bump

Emory accepts ED I at such a high rate, and you're very qualified, so I think you're gonna make it.

Wait, so what would your unweighted GPA be on a 4 point scale?

You're in.
Sat 2's don't matter. . .if they're good, they'll help. If they're not good, they won't make a difference.
