Will I Get Into Law School?

How do law schools view students who went to community college and then transfered to a 4 year university? I am going to complete my lower division requirements for my Philosophy major at a community college and then transfer to a UC (UCLA, UC Berkely, UC Santa Barbara are my top 3 choices). If I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and plan to be involved in clubs, student government, etc. will I have a good chance at getting into a top tier law school? Let’s say hypothetically I do very well on the LSAT and get all A’s (which I know I can do). Will top law schools discriminate against me because I did 2 years at community college?

I’m in the same exact boat (philosophy major, 4.0, hope to go to Berkeley, and plan to go to law school after) - and I have no idea. Curious of the exact same things.

Are you transferring in the Fall, or will you start CC? If the latter, let me know if you have any questions. I know the CC-to-UC transferring process thoroughly, and I’m happy to help.

Why exactly are you going to law school? If you read the market, unless your graduating Harvard Law or something equivalent, your chance of finding a job these days are very slim. Take one look at this article, and do some research to determine if law school is even a viable option these days. Statistics show 40% of law grads can’t find a job as a lawyer.
