I’m going into my senior year in high school with the GPA of 2.7 and a 15 on my first and only ACT (I test again in September). I also live out of state. What are my chances to be admitted to the University of Mississippi?
Right now Prepscholar has you at a 4% chance of getting in. It’s even more competitive out of state. I would suggest taking a year or two at community college. Even if you got in and managed to get financing, the out of state tuition would drown you in debt and cripple your career.
You will need to test again for OOS admission to be a possibility. In terms of testing, you would want to shoot for a minimum of 20, but you should aim for higher if possible. I would also suggest having your resume together as you may have to go through a review process.
With your GPA and being OOS, you’ll need a 27 ACT to have a shot, but preferably a 30 to balence out your GPA and have a decent shot. Ole Miss admission is very stats based and your chances drop fairly significantly once you go below a 3.0. What is your home state? If you really want to go to a MS public, you should look at Delta State, Alcorn State (a HBCU), Mississippi Valley State, and maybe Jackson State, but it would be quite a reach. But your best options will most likely be in-state.
Agree that you need a much higher ACT score. A 25 at the very least.
