I submitted my application and once it was “complete,” they made a decision on it in less than 12 hours and it says “An admission decision has been made and your decision letter will be sent via regular mail or email.”
However, the “transcript status” updated a day after it said “decision made” and it says “Need Final Transcript after completion of current coursework.”
Does this mean I got accepted?
Anyone have the same thing happen? What was the outcome?
Also, does anyone know how long I will have to wait to get a email or something in the mail?
Thanks
I would wait until you get something definite in the mail but if they are requesting a final transcript, it sounds like they accepted you. Don’t take my word for it though.
Thats what I thought as well, however turns out I was denied admission.
how come they would update the transcript status saying they need your final coursework transcript if they did not offer admissions? my account says the same thing and i called and they told me my decision was made yesterday and it should be here within the next week. can i ask what your gpa and test scores where?
No clue. If you call the admissions office you can ask what the decision was before you get it in the mail. That’s how I found out.
Dude, sorry you got hosed. Hope you find somewhere better. Sounds like these people need to get it together so you’re probably better off anyway. If their admissions office is this messed up from what you’re describing to us, it’s highly likely you’d be walking into a hot mess.
I sent the director of admissions a email directly and someone else replied to it and it was like they didn’t even read my email. I explained why my GPA was low (2.9) and a 1015 SAT score. They just replied saying the “assured admission requirements.” Like I knew I didn’t have assured admission. That’s why I did a essay and did all the other stuff to be well rounded.
Dude, you got hosed. They obviously didn’t even take the time to read your message, which sounds lazy, inexcusable and ridiculous. Seems like you’re better off not being at that place.
@JackStanley Often times, universities will use your GPA, Class Rank and Test Scores (or amy combination of these) with your personal achievements and essays, on an algorithm that predicts what your GPA would likely be. TX State is the 5th largest in TX and based on their prediction of how you would perform based on the algorithm, that a smaller school might suit you better, as a school this size does not, in their opinion.
It is nothing personal. A difficult semester can be hard to recover from and you want each semester to be as successful as possible.
Good luck on finding your fit.
Try UTSA also. I’m quite certain that UTEP will accept your application as well. Tarleton State(A&M school) is another option.
