Hello I applied to the university of Alabama and my GPA is a 2.4 and my act is a 19. I come from one of the best public schools in Alabama and and I have gotten a letter of recommendation. I applied in early October and still haven’t gotten an answer. Will I get in? Is there anything I can do to help my chances?
Hmm. You are decently below the 25-75% range for ACT (22-30), and your GPA is pretty low. On their website, it says, “A student with a 21 ACT or 1000 SAT [critical reading and math scores only] along with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 should be successful at the University.” They are giving the minimums there that they think a successful student should have. You are below their stated ACT score and below their stated GPA. Acceptance rate is 57%. I would say you have a shot, but it’s a pretty slim one. If I had to guess, I would say you will be denied.
You think I could get into the EDGE program?
Probably not. I go here now, and it seems like most accepted students have better stats.
Is there anything possible I could do to get in?
