<p>Im considering transferring to UConn from Eastern Connecticut State University for the fall 2012 (Junior Year) semester for computer science (Uconn School of Engineering). I am a sophomore with 48 credits. Before I send in my application, I would appreciate any feedback about what my chances are of being accepted. Also, would it be a good idea to send in some recommendation letters?</p>
<p>College GPA 3.05: Semester 1: 2.28, Semester 2: 3.25, Semester 3: 3.5 (Steady improvement?)
Next semester also planning to get a 3.3-3.6
Challenging course load (Biology classes and lab, Programming 1+2, Networking, Calculus 1 and 2, Discreet Mathematics)
Part of a couple technology clubs

<p>Lower than average chance, but certainly not impossible. Get recommendation letters from your professors.</p>
<p>When you say you’re a Sophomore with 48 credits, does that mean after 4 semesters or 3? If it means you’ll have 48 credits after 4 semesters you might not graduate in after your senior year–12 is the absolute minimum per semester to be considered a full time student, and you’re supposed to take an average of 15 credits per semester to graduate on time here. 48, after 4 semesters, is very low. That being said, if that’s only for 3 semesters, that’s 16/semester so you’d be in good shape.</p>
<p>Other than that, I second what ThePhilosopher said… your chances are quite low. Your “challenging courseload” basically consists of minimum GenEd requirements to even get a degree, most of which would be knocked out freshman year, so I wouldn’t really advertise that as a challenging courseload for an incoming junior.</p>
<p>But hey, all I am is an undergrad here, and my opinion means absolutely nothing. So go for it, and I wish you the best of luck!</p>
