<p>Hi everyone this is my first post
So I pretty much screwed up at my first college. My GPA was pretty bad and it was just a horrible environment for me. So I transfered to a CC by my house and completely turned things around. I have a 3.5 GPA and am doing great. My question is will I be able to get into UIC with just a 2.6 GPA? My last 42 hrs have been close to a 3.7 but i really messed up at my first college. I really want to go to the University of Chicago so if someone could please give me a idea of my chances, I would really appreciate it.</p>

<p>Well colleges look for an upward trend, something you seem to have. I think you have a decent shot considering you have a 3.5 at your cc. Just explain to them in your essay why you did poorly before.</p>
<p>did you give any ec’s? or write a personal statement?
One of my friends got in with a 2.9. You definitely have a chance since you’ve been doing well as of recent. I applied there too for the spring.</p>
<p>I haven’t applied yet, but i will be sure to include a personal essay to tell them why I did bad at the other college.</p>
