I got into a 20-30 ranked university, and I have recently been caught smoking in campus and suspended. I am over 18, and I wasnt doing drug but just cigarette. I know I was stupid and I even quit smoking. Is it possible for me to get rescinded for this?
Which college did you get into? Colleges differ on the criteria for rescinding a student.

It’s possible, if your teachers report it to the college. Teachers are usually required to report any such misconduct to the student’s college. Your school will likely contact you asking you to explain yourself.
In school suspension? That might just be considered s detention.
Otherwise, Don’t take this as gospel, but my impressions of Tufts is that they would not. Smoking a cigarette legally, albeit in a restricted area, is not a “worrisome” behavior for them. Plus they make such a big deal out of how much they promote “nonconformist” or or individual persons. That makes me think they don’t have a “list” of things that get a rescind letter. I’d think they’d look at the person and circumstances “holistically”!
Don’t be afraid to speak to your GC. They will tell you if it is something they will report. And if so, what you should send to Tufts.
It’s no biggie in my book. Glad you will quit smoking tho! Ppl my age struggle as it is an addiction you should avoid like the plague!! Good luck!
You’re worth a quarter of a million to Tufts. It’s not going to turn you out for your tobacco use.
You probably want to let Tufts know about this. Discuss this with your GC. Very, very unlikely they will rescind your acceptance. I’d be shocked. Smoking is not a moral weakness. Bullying would be much more serious. Tufts is a pretty reasonable place and smoking says nothing about who you are as a person (but, please try to quit.)
My daughter says there are many smokers standing outside her dorm every day. If you were truly smoking cigs, IMO it would be hypocritical of them to rescind!
