I was accepted into UCLA for fall 2015. I put on my application that I would be taking a community college class for a quarter. The course was a Japanese course and I've already taken Spanish for four years.

However, I cannot take the course during the next quarter because of my extra-curricular commitments. Will I be rescinded for dropping this course??

I'm taking four classes aside from the community college class, all of which are either AP or Honors

I would say with almost certainty no. It’s just a language class, more like an elective than anything. If you got a D in a class that would be a different story but this is nothing like that. Just notify UCLA of the change (and the reason for it) but there should be absolutely no problem. UCs are practical. Be happy about your UCLA acceptance! =)

proudfoodie- i had a similar situation, where i said i would continue this art class into my spring semester, but i dropped it because i didnt need the credit. there is a form that you fill out on the ucla website (you enter in your classes and then say DROP next to the one you drop), and then you get an automatic email saying that in 15 days they will notify you. beware- your admission decision letter will sortof be rescinded momentarily (it changes from the Congratulations! thing, to a really sober message about reviewing your application). however, today i got an email from my counseler saying that it did not affect my decision so yay! (though my admission letter on the website is still gone =[ sigh) i hope this helps anyone out there congrats about getting into ucla :D

you should let them know.
