I was accepted ED with all As on my transcript, except for an 88 in History freshmen year. I’m probably going to end up with a 70 in Hebrew as a senior. This will be my fourth year taking Hebrew- it’s a requirement for my high school although the US requirement is only 2 years of a foreign language. All of my other classes this year are As- is it likely that my Hebrew grade will get me rescinded?
Thank you
No.
While I don’t know any specific rules for Johns Hopkins the general rule often quoted on CC is to avoid D’s, F’'s, felonies, and offensive social media posts. So keep that Hebrew grade at 70 or higher and I imagine you will be fine.
Congrats on your acceptance!
I was accepted ED to Hopkins a few years ago with a similar senior fall transcript. My senior spring, my grades slipped and I ended up with 2 C’s. Hopkins did send me an email asking me for an explanation and if I needed additional resources to help me ease into my transition. They didn’t rescind me and it didn’t sound like they had any plans to from the beginning. Also don’t feel too bad about that C, I graduated from Hopkins with honors
I would not worry. People with MUCH worse grades don’t get rescinded as long as they have a decent explanation. You have to seriously bomb senior year to have your admission rescinded.
@jhugrad17 congratulations on your achievements! I recently committed to JHU as a Sophomore transfer! I was so worried, I took a look at my Spring grades and found an A, C+, and C… waiting on one more grade but I’m predicting it’ll turn out to be a B+ to A-? Do you think I should first e-mail the school with a proper explanation?
